Was A Bluey Animator Fired For Something Naughty On The Show?

There are many fan theories on Bluey, and some are more mature than others. It’s more common for these theories to center around more saucy topics than innocent ones, and it wasn’t that long ago that Melanie Zanetti fired back at one of these very adult theories during an Award show. The latest fan theory that’s been circulating is about as salacious as it can get, and based on a news story that revealed it – things escalated quickly This went from being a fan theory into a very serious accusation on social media, leading to a staff member at Ludo Studio to be fired. At least, that’s what the story claims.

Did someone actually get fired because a Bluey fan theory was proven to be legit? Just what exactly was this theory, and why is it definitely not one for kids to hear? Let’s break down this story and determine whether this backlash was fact or fiction!

Did This Bluey Fan Theory Get Somebody Fired?

According to an article from Australia’s The Betoota Advocate, a debate on social media began over an observation regarding a piece of furniture. A chair was spotted in Chilli and Bandit’s bedroom and someone thought it was strange that the object was positioned facing their bedroom, implying it was for someone to watch them. The theories grew, with some believing it was a spot for Bandit to watch someone else in bed with his wife. There’s an adult term for this, and we’re not using it here, but you’re welcome to check The Advocate’s site if you want to read it.

The article continued and claimed “the animator responsible for adding the armchair apparently ‘did it as a joke’, believing that no one would even notice, and has since been let go for suggesting that Bandit and Chilli are anything other than wholesome.”

Bluey fans on social media and Reddit began circulating the article, with readers shocked to hear this startling news. But for many, something seemed a little fishy about this story. Those discerning readers were right to think that way, and here is the truth.

Fact Checking This Fan Theory

In reality, this post was a total ruse, and so is the entire website. However, this isn’t a case of “Fake News” so much as “Fun News,” and a lot of unsuspecting Bluey fans were taken for a ride.

Started in 2014 by journalists Archer Hamilton and Charles Single, The Betoota Advocate is a satirical news source, much like The Onion in the United States, who also covered Bluey in this funny way. In other words, all of the stories are jokes! The media source uses real-life topics and current events, and then spins them into humorous stories lampooning or parodying what’s actually going on.

In all seriousness, the Twitter usernames the article provided should have been a dead giveaway, and a quick search for those names would prove they don’t exist… except for “Rumpleforeskin” but let’s not dig too deep into that real person’s account.

No animators were fired over this fan theory, because it simply never happened. As far as the legitimacy of this chair theory, which was likely based on some actual mature Bluey fan theories, it will remain a mystery – and one I’d rather not have the answer to.

There are plenty more theories about the show in a similar adult vibe, and the truth is – every one of those will never be answered by the shows creators. However, we all know those same people have said one of the magical parts about Bluey is how so much of it is open to interpretation. So, if you really want to believe some of these wackadoo naughty fan theories, nobody is going to stop you.
