2023 was a big year for Bluey in many ways, but one of the most exciting was her entry into video games. Aside from her mobile app, the Heelers enjoyed their debut in console gaming thanks to Bluey: The Video Game. Not only that, they even had a custom Bluey Xbox console up for grabs that one lucky person won in December.

How to rent Bluey: The Video Game
The announcement came via Microsoft’s official website, revealing Bluey’s first foray into gaming will now be available to all Xbox Game Pass Members on cloud, console, and Windows PC.
What that means is Bluey’s video game is essentially able to be rented if you’re a member of this service (more details on that below). Not only that, a few other unrelated titles will also be added to this special deal if you act now.
Bluey: The Video Game will be part of the second half of their February titles, which also includes Return to Grace, Tales of Arise, Maneater, Madden NFL 24, Indivisible, and Space Engineers. The company also revealed the addition of Warhammer 40K Boltgun and Diablo IV in March.
Bluey: The Videogame (intended for preschoolers but played by many adults) came out last November, and includes a story unique to the game with four interactive episodic adventures. Players can have fun inside the Heeler House and their backyard, the local playground, the creek, and a bonus beach location. Characters include the entire Heeler family – Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli – and a few other familiar favorites, while solving a mystery and playing games from the animated series, including Keepy Uppy, Chattermax Chase, and more.
What is Xbox Game Pass?
If you’re unfamiliar with the Xbox Game Pass, it essentially allows you to try out a huge variety of Xbox titles in a risk-free format. Instead of paying for game after game (which can get very expensive), the Game Pass lets you rent the latest popular titles among others for a monthly subscription fee, and often includes additional perks. Game Pass subscriptions are available for use on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and your mobile device. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate works on console, mobile device, and PC, and includes multiplayer gaming. Besides playing current-gen games, players can also enjoy games made for Xbox 360 and the original Xbox.
Reviews of the Bluey video game were not necessarily the most positive, with many annoyed by the short length of it (it takes about an hour to complete the story and maybe another 30-60 minutes to find all the collectibles if you take it slow). The biggest problem was how glitchy it was during launch, something that has yet to be fixed in-depth. If you were curious about the game but didn’t want to pay full price for it, this is a great chance to try it out while also having access to some other great titles that may not be kid-friendly, but are definitely great for adult gamers.
