Over the past twenty years or so, I’ve spent a lot of time at comic conventions across the country. I’ve regularly attended NY Comic Con since it first happened at the Javits Center when I was still in College, and I’ve gone as far as California for the Ghostbusters Fan Fest in 2019. Coming up this fall, it might be time to put some frequent flyer miles to good use, as two of the stars of Bluey are about to make their convention debut in the United States!
Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti, AKA the voices behind Bandit and Chilli Heeler, are about to drop by the United States for their first-ever convention appearance. The Australian performers will be stopping by the Twin Cities Con in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from November 3-5, making this a momentous occasion for Bluey lovers of all ages.
The pair will be at their booths all weekend, and photo ops are also available for purchase in advance, so bring your best Bluey clothes and get ready for a great time you or your family will never forget.
In addition to meeting fans and signing autographs, Zanetti and McCormack will be participating in a Bluey panel on Sunday afternoon at noon in the ballroom. This will be your chance to hear stories about the show, get to know the performers better, and connect with your fellow fans in one convenient spot. Maybe we will get some information regarding when the remainder of Season 3 will arrive in the US, or some other awesome news that might surprise us all.
Surprisingly, neither McCormack or Zanetti have done any convention appearances closer to their part of the world yet either. Technically, this may make it their very first con anywhere! The success of their debut outing will likely determine how frequent they do these in 2024 and beyond, so any Bluey fans in the area should definitely come out and show their support.
Tickets are still available for Twin Cities Con on their official website, and the event happens from November 3-5 in Minneapolis, MN. Additional celebrities joining Zanetti and McCormack will be Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Danny Trejo, Steve Burns from Blues Clues, Janet Varney from The Legend of Korra, Tony Todd, and loads of other wonderful actors, pro wrestlers, voiceover talent, and artists (full guest list here). Adult tickets range in price from $35 for a one-day ticket to $70 for a weekend pass. (Advance online discounts are available through Monday, October 30). Admission for children 13 & under is only $10 for the entire weekend.
Stay tuned for any breaking news from the convention on this website!
