Bluey Pancakes Are Part of This Dad’s Balanced Breakfast

Like most of you who spend too much time on social media, I don’t want to admit how long I spend staring at food videos. My feed is currently in a pizza margherita phase, and I’m not complaining, but I also enjoy watching the more artsy foods made. Pancake art is something everyone likes, and the latest one I just stumbled upon is something Bluey fans are going to want to check out – and possibly be inspired by.

Mason Smith is a social media star who drew attention with his TikTok videos by challenging masculinity stereotypes by doing what every dad should do with their daughters – taking an active interest in things they like. For many, that means occasionally having your nails painted, but @dadsocial takes things even further. He’s amassed an enormous following showcasing the extra miles he puts in to make his family happy, and he does it all with a smile on his face.

In his most recent video posted across his social media pages, Smith showed off his breakfast-making prowess by creating pancakes of everybody’s favorite blue heeler pups, Bluey and Bingo. Not only that, he made the show’s logo too!

The steadiness of those hands is mesmerizing to watch, and Smith makes it look so easy with how effortlessly he freehands those characters. Doing the Bluey font elevates it even further, but the fact that this man can flip those hotcakes and not lose any details deserves a gold medal. Smith garnishes the plates with fruits and bacon to make this sweet morning treat a little bit more healthy and “part of a balanced breakfast,” but who could eat something that looks as gorgeous as that?

Before these Bluey pancakes, Smith has impressed his millions of followers with Valentine’s Day pancakes, Fairly OddParents and Winnie the Pooh pancakes, and even a Superbowl-inspired breakfast. In other words, this dad has worked on these amazing skills for quite some time. This bandit should be proud of himself, taking that outdoor grilling expertise like we’ve seen in “Hammerbarn” and “Christmas Swim” to a new place.

This brings fatherhood to a whole other level, and sets the bar pretty high for other dads out there. Of course, not making intricate pancakes isn’t going to knock points off of anyone’s parenting. It’s all about creating memories, and no matter how weird your pancakes might look, what matters is the experience you had with your children enjoying them.

Learning to make something as challenging as this takes a lot of practice. Luckily, home chefs who want to brush up their culinary skills can check out Bluey and Bingo’s Fancy Restaurant Cookbook. While there aren’t recipes for pancakes, there are for other popular dishes from the cartoon, including Pavlova, omelets, and cupcakes among others.

If you’re feeling confident, why not try making a duck cake? We’ve got the perfect recipe for it along with the steps for how to build it and keep it vertical in a more efficient way than Bandit could ever do.
